July 4th 1776 marked the beginning of the American dream and turned America into the “land of the free and the home of the brave”. This is the day when we claimed our independence from Britain and signed the Declaration of Independence.
We are all so different, with all sorts of backgrounds, but this day makes us proud of being here and we want everyone to see it, so we made up a list of a few simple things you can do to show off your patriotism.
First of all, hanging the flag is an important and must do on the list. Hang it by your house, in front of it, even on your bike or car, anyplace where it’s visible.
Secondly, think of your children’s education and get them in the celebratory spirit by getting a copy of the Declaration of Independence and reading it to them. It’s not very long, so chances are they will not lose their interest by the end of it and it’s a remembering of our fought and why it’s worth it to keep fighting.
Another thing you can do that is fun is to dress up. You can either buy clothes that look like the flag or choose for yourself a nice combination of red, blue and white. If you are not feeling any of these choices you can just paint your nails, ask someone to draw a flag with washable finger paint on your face or at least wear a pin.
Some other activities you can get involved in are attending the local parade, going to a barbecue or picnic with your family or going to see the local fireworks show.
No matter how you decide to spend this 4th of July makes sure to check the local festivities that may vary depending on where you live and to join in the celebration with your neighbours, friends and family members.
